Habitat: A 33-acre island with a egret/heron
rookery; one of the largest in Minnesota.
Best Times To Visit: May through July.
Birds To Look For: Great Blue Heron, Great Egret,
Black-crowned Night-Heron. Rarities seen here include
Tricolored and Little Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets.
Notes For Birding The Area: Access to the island
is prohibited, but it can be circumnavigated by boat. Nearby
Lake Christina is great for waterbirds.
